About Daebakminguk

Daebakminguk is a photo essay project documenting Korean culture and way of life. Working from cultural performances, historic places, landscapes, and the everyday rhythms that shape them, it uses photography as a way to think about history, society, and aesthetic tradition. Published in English, Spanish, and Korean, it is the work of a photographer based in Korea who has made the country his subject. It is not a travel guide. It follows the attention of its maker: what feels resonant, what asks to be held longer, what reveals itself only in unhurried looking.
